Why Coolbest exists

Mr Chong started Coolbest in 2005 after nine years as an HVAC apprentice and technician working under other companies. He kept seeing the same pattern: customers were quoted for services they didn't need, charged for refrigerant top-ups that only masked a leak, and handed warranty paperwork that the company wouldn't honour.

Coolbest was built as the alternative. Fixed per-unit servicing pricing so nobody gets surprised. Diagnosis-first culture so nobody pays for guesswork. 90-day workmanship warranty because work should stand up, and if it doesn't, we come back.

How we work, in plain terms

• Published pricing. S$50 for one fan coil, up to S$115 for six. On our pricing page, not behind a phone call.
• Real diagnosis. When you say "my aircon isn't cold," we don't reach for the refrigerant first. We find the cause — usually a filter, sometimes a compressor. Then we quote.
• Photo evidence. We show you what's inside your coil or drainage before we do chemical wash. You approve the scope knowing what we found.
• Same-team delivery. The technician who arrives is one of our five in-house team — not a subcontractor. Same uniform, same training, same warranty responsibility.
• 90-day warranty. If the fault we fixed recurs within 90 days, we come back at no cost. No small print.

Where we work

Our Block 540 HQ is in Jurong West. That puts our crews minutes away from Yuhua, Taman Jurong, Gek Poh, Boon Lay, Jurong East, and the West Region condo clusters. Same-day West Region response is operationally realistic from here — it's not a marketing promise.

We also service Central Region homes (Bukit Timah, Queenstown, Bishan, Toa Payoh) on a next-day or scheduled basis. Nothing changes about our pricing or warranty based on your postcode.

What we don't do

We're not the aircon company for everyone. A few honest caveats:

• We don't do cheapest-in-town. Our prices are fair, not rock-bottom. If you need the lowest number on a price list, we're not that.
• We don't do "free gas top-ups." Aircon is a sealed system — if you're losing gas, you have a leak. We fix the leak. Anyone offering free recurring top-ups is masking a problem.
• We don't do chemical wash on every visit. About 40% of the time we tell customers they don't need one yet. A regular servicing is enough.
• We don't subcontract out. If we're too busy, we say so and offer the next available slot — we don't pass the job to someone we don't vouch for.
